What We Do

Working to enhance the student experience for all new Comets, the New Student Engagement Board has four primary organizational goals:

  • Improving communication across UT Dallas by bringing together stakeholders from the university’s administrative offices and schools.
  • Sharing information about programs, events or opportunities that may increase new students’ involvement and sense of belonging.
  • Developing proposals, projects or other initiatives that have the potential to enhance the new student experience.
  • Maximizing university resources and preventing duplications of effort or internal competition across campus.

From sharing events and opportunities across campus to reviewing administrative processes, NSEB’s members investigate best practices, explore alternative approaches and collaborate on projects and initiatives designed to increase new student engagement at UT Dallas.

New Student Engagement Fund

Supported by a grant from The University of Texas System, the New Student Engagement Fund encourages cross-campus collaborations aimed at new student success and engagement. These grants are awarded to NSEB members who have developed cooperative initiatives — and who have done their best to utilize all available university resources — but who need additional funds to implement their proposed projects.
